I have just finished reading Markus Zusak’s ‘When Dogs Cry’ and having loved ‘The Book Thief’, it was with some trepidation that I approached this book (would I be disappointed, would my view of Markus Zusak as an insightful, talented  and sensitive young writer be diminished?). I was not disappointed. This book is beautifully written with the same lyrical style as Zusak’s other work. He is able to capture teenage angst and find beauty in the everyday. A wonderful read.

This ‘boy meets girl’ story is about teenager Cameron Wolfe and his hopes, dreams and of course, relationships. He is the classic underdog, the forgotten brother and son, but he finds comfort in his older brother’s ex-girlfriend and it is the beginning of a journey of self discovery.

Great for teenagers and adults who remember how difficult it is to grow up.
